Summary:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse assists the Registered Nurse in the delivery of patient care. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the LVN is responsible for administering direct patient care, treatments as ordered by the physician and administering medications as outlined by hospital policy and procedure.

5South is a 40-bed comprehensive unit specializing in post-operative care of patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal and urologic problems. The unit serves as a Center of Excellence for the care of bariatric surgery patients. The unit also cares for the medical monitored patients as well as traumatic injuries transferred from the ICU and Emergency Department.

Requirements:

A.Education/Skills

Graduate of a State Board Vocational School of Nursing or equivalent

B.Experience

Six (6) months experience preferred.

C.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

·Current LVN license with ability to practice in the State of Texas.AHA BLS – within two (2) weeks of employment

Night Shift 

Night Shift differentials added on base rate:
7p - 11p +$2.75/hr 
11p - 7a +$3.50/hr 
Weekend Shift +$2.50/hr
