Community Health of Central WA (CHCW) is in search of a dynamic Chief Operations Officer (COO) to oversee all operational functions related to our clinic and program service sites. You will work collaboratively with CHCW Leadership Group, CHCW Board of Directors, and Managers to achieve the organization’s mission and strategic initiatives.

Founded by our Central WA Family Medicine Residency program (CWFM) in 1993, CHCW has grown into an integrated community health center to include full spectrum primary care, pediatric, senior residential care, behavioral and addiction care, and dental serving the Yakima and Kittitas Counties at multiple sites.

Position Highlights

• Collaborates with the CFO on annual budget, volume projections, equipment planning, staffing, and cost control initiatives.
• Works collaboratively with the CMO, Site Medical Directors, Program Directors, and Recruitment Dept/HR to assure achievement of annual recruitment and retention objectives for provider staffing.
• Serves on the CHCW Leadership Group and other high-level committees and teams as appropriate.
• Administers and monitors standards, policies, and procedures for areas of responsibilities.
• Serves as staff to the Board of Directors under the direction of the CEO. Contributes to the strategic planning work of the Board.
• Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates monthly financial and statistical information and productivity reports with managers and leaders. Makes adjustments as appropriate to achieve business and budget goals. 

Compensation and Perks

• Annual Base Salary: $150,000-$200,000

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Business Management, Healthcare Administration or related field; a combination of equivalent education and experience in health service management may be substituted for degree.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in management of health program operations in urgent care, primary care and/or outpatient facility and direct experience in staff supervision is required.

Our family medicine residency has operated since 1993, and provides a rich learning experience. CWFMR has been dually accredited since 2005, the oldest dually accredited program in WWAMI. For years our osteopathic residents have graduated, and will graduate, with dual board certification. As such, we’ve always been on the forefront of osteopathic education, and lead the way in Washington State being the first program with ACGME accreditation and Osteopathic Recognition. 24 of the residents are based in Yakima for training and provide care to a diverse patient population at our Central Washington Family Medicine Clinic in Yakima. The remaining 6 residents are Ellensburg based for a large part of their training and provide much needed care to a more rural population.
