Job Summary
The End User Computing (EUC) Engineer is responsible for designing, supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the hospital's end user computing environment to ensure clinicians, staff, and administrators have reliable and secure access to technology resources. This role provides advanced technical support for endpoint devices, operating systems, applications, and mobility solutions, with a strong focus on delivering a stable, compliant, and user-friendly experience in a healthcare setting. The Engineer partners closely with clinical and non-clinical teams to address technology needs, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to projects that enhance patient care through technology.
Essential Functions:
Endpoint Deployment & Configuration o Build, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, tablets, thin clients, and mobile devices using enterprise imaging and management tools. o Ensure devices meet hospital security, compliance, and operational standards prior to release. (15%)
Advanced Technical Support o Provide Tier II/III support for escalated incidents, service requests, and problem management activities. o Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and peripheral issues in clinical and administrative environments. o Partner with EUC Support and Help Desk teams to ensure resolution and knowledge transfer. (15%)
Systems & Application Management o Administer and support Microsoft 365, Intune, SCCM, and other enterprise endpoint management solutions. o Package, test, and deploy applications, patches, and updates to the endpoint environment. o Maintain and optimize Group Policy Objects (GPOs), login scripts, and device configurations. (15%)
Healthcare Technology Integration o Support clinical workstations, Workstations on Wheels (WoWs), printers, and medical-grade peripherals. o Collaborate with clinical application teams (e.g., Epic Analysts, Nursing Informatics, Clin. Apps) to ensure endpoint compatibility, performance, and workflow support. (15%)
Security & Compliance o Enforce endpoint security policies, including encryption, endpoint detection and response (EDR), conditional access, and mobile device management. o Participate in vulnerability remediation, patch management, and compliance reporting activities. o Support HIPAA and other regulatory requirements by ensuring endpoint security and data protection measures. (15%)
Project Participation & Execution o Contribute to enterprise IT projects such as operating system upgrades, device lifecycle refreshes, and mobility initiatives. o Assist with design, testing, and rollout of new endpoint standards, technologies, and configurations. o Document project deliverables, lessons learned, and standard operating procedures. (10%)
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing o Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles. o Provide technical training and guidance to junior staff and end users as needed. (10%)
Continuous Improvement o Monitor system performance, identify recurring issues, and recommend solutions to improve reliability and efficiency. o Stay current with emerging EUC technologies, industry best practices, and healthcare IT trends. (5%)
Education:
Bachelor's Degree Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required; equivalent work experience accepted.
Work Experience:
7-9 years of IT experience with at least 5 years focused on end user computing required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Windows Operating Systems, Intune, SCCM, Active Directory, Group Policy.
Experience with mobile device management (MDM/MAM), such as Intune, JAMF or Citrix XenMobile.
Familiarity with clinical workflows and healthcare endpoint technologies.
Strong troubleshooting skills in hardware, OS, and application environments.
