Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesVirginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a an ARNP or Physician Assistant for a full time orthopedic opportunity at St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood, WA. Our new provider will be joining a busy and friendly orthopedic surgeon committed to the success of the team. The service is focused on collaboration with a broader multidisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
The selected provider will enjoy a great amount of autonomy and will run their own clinic.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Assists in the surgical suite including first assist, deep and superficial wound closure, application of internal devices and any other procedures delegated by the supervising surgeon
- Performs pre-operative and post-operative care in clinics
- Performs comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations
- Interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests in clinics
- Formulates a treatment plan for conditions within their scope of practice
- Exercises judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral or evaluation by the supervising surgeon or other health care professionals
- Orders, collects and performs appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies, such as routine laboratory tests and radiologic examinations including CT, MRI and bone scan studies.
- Conducts hospital rounds, writes orders, and sees patients in the ED for the surgeon if needed
- Weekend rounding on infrequent / as-needed basis. No night call
Average schedule is Monday-Friday consisting of OR (surgery) inclusive of both clinic/hospital work. Schedule to include one administrative day per week.
Compensation range based on experience: $141,240 - $194,683 /year DOE, plus additional wRVU productivity

Job Requirements- Experience as an ARNP or Physician Assistant preferred, willing to mentor and train selected provider
- Surgical experience as an ARNP or Physician Assistant is also preferred
- Washington State license in good standing
- Board certified
- DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association
