SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim. The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner will perform exams including medical-forensic exams, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, photographic documentation, and referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, support and participation in legal proceedings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.Â
- AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
