Job Description:

Provide emotional support to patients and families, demonstrating AdventHealth’s commitment to compassionate, whole-person care. Other duties as assigned. Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments and personnel. Support surgical teams by preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies. Maintain sterility in the surgical field and anticipate the needs of surgeons and scrub techs. Assist in specimen collection, labeling, and handling according to AdventHealth policies. Participate in counts (sponges, sharps, instruments) to ensure patient safety. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services. Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards. Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers. Demonstrates safe practice in the administration of medications. Assist in preparing patients for surgical procedures, including verification of patient identity, surgical site, and consent (time-out procedures). Monitor and assess patients preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic technique.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification [Required]

Education:
• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Field of Study:
• Accredited CVT program, Radiologic Technologist Program. Paramedic or Respiratory Therapy program

Work Experience:
• 1+ experience in a specialty area(s) [Preferred]

Additional Information:

Licenses and Certifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
